FAQ – 2018/2019

Q: On the first day, where do we meet?

A: Please meet at the “Race Hut” which is located between Hill 55 and J.S. on the left side of the Columbia Chair (if looking up the hill). The “Race Hut” is a bright red building and has signage on the side facing the main chalet.

Q: Are athletes to be dressed and ready to go out or do they meet with their coaches and get ready after?

A: Please have your athlete dressed and ready to go in all their equipment prior to meeting up with their coach

Q:  My athlete has misplaced their mouthguard, are replacements available?

A:  yes, please visit the race hut and a mouthguard will be provided for a fee.

Q: Do we get ready in the main chalet?

A: You may get ready in the main chalet of Boler Mountain or you may use the Athlete Change Room in the Race Hut. There are shelves and hooks to hang boot bags and lunches. When sending a lunch with your child, ensure you show them where their lunch bag is placed so they can find their belongings at lunch time – a lot of lunches are “lost”!  Racer Development athletes should leave lunches at their designated post in the bucket provided.

Q: For Racer Development – do all races happen at Boler, or are races held elsewhere?

A: All races are held at Boler Mountain on Saturdays. Junior athletes & Senior athletes will alternate race weekends. Volunteers to assist with races are always appreciated!

Q: For Racer Development - My kids are 3 years apart – are they in one group?

A: No – we group athletes based on age. If any athletes are having difficulties with the skill level in the group or require more advanced skills, we will move them to a new group accordingly.

Q: We just booked our family trip and we will miss a night of training – can we practice on the other training night?

A: No – should a training day or race be missed (due to other than a LSC Racing cancellation) training days cannot be made up on another night and refunds will not be available.

Q: The weather is poor – is racing cancelled?

A: LSC Racing will only cancel program dates due to facility closures at Boler Mountain. We will communicate via email to parents if training is cancelled; if you do not hear from us then training is still taking place – dress for the weather!! Watch the website and Facebook.

Q: Are program refunds available?

A: Yes  until December 31st of the program year.  There is a $55 administration fee per athlete and requests must be received in writing to lscracing@gmail.com prior to December 31st. No refunds will be available after this deadline. Lottery tickets WILL NOT be refunded at any time under any circumstances.  

Q: Should athletes bring a lunch on Saturdays or can they buy their lunch in the cafeteria?

A: Please bring a healthy & nut free lunch!! The food lines at Boler Mountain can be very long! Athletes eat with their coaches at a specified lunch time to help alleviate the congestion in the chalet; also we use alternate locations for lunches and the coaching staff does not have the ability to take some athletes to the cafeteria while others eat in their specified locations.

Q:  What is the LSC Racing Lottery?

A:  LSC Racing Lottery is the only LSC fundraiser each season.  Lottery proceeds provide operational funds for all programs of LSC Racing. $100 (5 lottery tickets) is added to each athlete registration at time of check out, with the exception of Adult Racing, $60 (3 lottery tickets) is added to each adult registration.  Lottery tickets may be sold by athletes and stubs entered for the draw to be held later in the season. Lottery tickets WILL NOT be refunded at any time under any circumstances.
