Program Update (Weather) – December 30, 2015

Mother Nature is still not cooperating! After an update from the Boler Mountain Management today, we will be bumping the first day of program for all youth racers (U10 – U18 & Racer Development) to Saturday, January 9th. Please ensure you look at the website for the exact start time of your child’s program. Adult Racing will commence on Tuesday, January 12th.

If we need to further push these dates – I will be in touch accordingly. As we will be starting late – we will try and run straight through for 8 weeks from the day that we start – therefore please be prepared for the program to run longer than in the brochure. Should there be further changes we will assess as we near the end of the season.

U10-U18 FAMILIES: Alpine Ontario feels that due the the current lack of snow across Southern Ontario that they cannot in good faith release the Division 2 schedule for the season. As soon as the weather takes a turn and clubs can start opening operations, AOA will continue to work with club Directors to assess the schedule and conditions across the region to ensure that they maximize the remainder of our winter and still give athletes a great season. In the meantime, AOA has published some camps on the website – I would encourage you all to visit their website and check them out!

I know this may not be the update that everyone is hoping for but we will continue to keep you informed as the weather starts to get colder!

Warm Regards,

Sarah Dyer
LSC Racing Executive Program Director

Program Update (Weather) December 22, 2015

Parents, staff & volunteers,

I hope everyone is almost ready for Christmas – happy first day of winter?

As you all can see, Mother Nature is not being kind to us skiers. We have unfortunately cancelled our Christmas Camps for this year. Depending on the program you are in, our program start dates are slated for January 2nd (competitive travelling teams U10-U18) or the week of January 4th (adult racing & racer development). As of right now we are maintaining those start dates; the operating conditions are ever changing and are being taken on a day-by-day basis. The crew at Boler Mountain are working tirelessly and endlessly to try and open as soon as possible.

Part of the joys of living in South Western Ontario is that weather can change on a dime and although the long-term forecast does not look favourable we are all hoping for a Christmas miracle! If there is a change of the starting dates I will be in touch as soon as we make that decision – we are waiting for the direction from Boler Mountain operations; however as I said we are working on a day-by-day basis.

Regardless of the start date we will try and run straight through for 8 weeks from that date – therefore if we do have a late starting date, please be prepared for the program to run longer than in the brochure. Anything else from that point we will assess as we near the end of the season.

I know this may not be the update that everyone is hoping for but we will continue to keep you informed as we venture along this mild path.

‘Cold’ Regards,

Sarah Dyer
LSC Racing Executive Program Director
